Visit Qikou and the Chinese “Hobbiton” Lijiashan.

Wonder around the ancient town of Qiko and explore the amazing cave dwellings in Lijiashan. There are no souvenir shops, no tourist traps. It’s real! And it’s for a limited time: The first restorations have begun, the original inhabitants are almost gone and in a few years’ time tourism will definitely take off here.

Qikou Tour (from/to Pingyao, 2 days)

Day 1

Leaving from Pingyao around 8:00.
Approximately 3 hours drive.
Check in at guest house in Qikou (200-400 RMB/room/night).
Exploare the town for the rest of the day. Great photo opportunities!

Day 2

Check out, then a 30 minute drive to Lijiashan to explore the cave dwellings.
Drive to the village of Xiwan, showcasing over 40 well-preserved family courtyards.
Returning to Pingyao in the late evening.
